Kahf Kids - Safe Edutainment with Smart Parental Control
In today’s digital age, parents face a difficult decision.
Option 1: Keep children completely away from digital devices (which, realistically, is not possible for most families).
Option 2: Give them access to platforms like YouTube — which cannot be controlled and, in most cases, are harmful.
Since most parents cannot entirely keep their children away from devices, they end up choosing the second option — handing over harmful and uncontrolled platforms to their kids.
Watching content on YouTube influences a child’s language, behavior, and social development.
A 2023 study (Journal of Psychology and Social Practice, pages 2–4) found that 64.4% of parents reported their children imitate what they see on YouTube, and 60.4% said their children try to imitate YouTubers’ lifestyles.
As parents, what problems do we face most often?
Our children are addicted to YouTube and become aggressive when we take the device away.
They watch random videos for hours — just keep scrolling endlessly.
They spend all day watching useless videos that teach them nothing educational.
They no longer spend time with family, don’t play outside, and lose focus on studies.
They download countless games and keep playing even during study hours.
They often stumble upon inappropriate or harmful content, ads, apps, or websites.
As parents, what do we really want?
A good alternative to YouTube — a platform where they can learn something valuable.
The ability to limit screen time so they don’t spend excessive hours watching.
Control over what videos they can see — only the ones we pre-approve.
The ability to block distracting games, apps, or websites so they can’t download or access them.
Tools to monitor their activity — what they watch, what they do, and who they interact with — so they don’t go astray.
And ideally, one platform that provides everything needed for raising children — guidance, parenting resources, products, information, and expert help — all in one place.
The reality we face
Even though we don’t want to hand devices to our children, in many cases, we are forced to do so —
for reasons like online classes or other beneficial needs.
But every time we give them a device, there’s a fear —
What if they visit a harmful website? What if they install dangerous apps?
Moreover, children easily get addicted to mobile games.
That’s why we need a solution where, even if they use a device, it stays within healthy limits —
where parents can decide which apps can be opened, which ones can’t, how long they can use it, and which websites they can access.
And equally important — parents should be able to monitor everything:
who they chat with, what they watch, what videos they share, and more.

Smart Parental Control
Separate Kids and Parent Panels
To ensure children don’t realize that various blocking systems are in place, there are separate panels for kids and for parents.
Password Protection
All settings and parental control features are protected by a password.
At the beginning, you can set your own password so your child cannot access or change these settings.
Video Feed Settings
You can customize multiple filters such as age, gender, language, and content type.
Based on your selected preferences, the video feed will be automatically generated.
Video Watch-Time Limit
You can set daily time limits for how long your child can watch videos.
Once the time limit is reached, videos will automatically stop playing.
Video Manager Feature
Parents can add YouTube videos or playlists directly to Kahf Kids on their child’s device.
They can also delete added videos anytime they wish.
Outside of these added videos, the child cannot watch any other content or access YouTube.
Many children prefer watching specific channels. Parents can easily add only those channels or playlists their child likes.
Sometimes tutors show learning or project-related tutorials from YouTube. If a normal YouTube link is shared, the child might wander into other unrelated or harmful content afterward.
But if that same video is added through Kahf Kids, the child will only see that video — no other distractions or unsafe content.
Video Theme Customization
You can change the video interface to look exactly like YouTube.
Some kids are so used to YouTube that they refuse to use anything else.
By enabling the YouTube-style theme, they won’t even realize it’s a different platform — meaning you’ll never have to give them actual YouTube again.
The interface, layout, and video segments will appear just like YouTube, giving a familiar experience in a safe environment.
App Blocker / App Restriction / App Usage Time Limit
You can restrict or block any app in four different ways:
1. Always Block Apps
Permanently block any app at all times.
Example: your child keeps installing countless games from Google Play Store — you can permanently block Google Play Store, so they can’t open it anymore.
Whenever needed, you can simply unblock it again.
2. Instant Block Apps
Temporarily block apps instantly for a short duration.
Example: your child has an online class for one hour — you can immediately block all games or distracting apps for that hour.
After the set time, they will automatically unblock.
3. Custom Scheduled Blocks
Automatically block apps at specific times of the day.
Example: every evening from 6 PM to 11 PM (during study hours), you can block YouTube, games, etc.
Once set, this schedule will repeat daily — blocks will activate automatically at the same time.
4. App Usage Limit
Allow limited daily usage time for any app.
Example: you allow your child to play a game for 30 minutes per day.
After 30 minutes, the app will automatically lock itself for the rest of the day.
5. Uninstall Protection
This feature prevents children from uninstalling the app.
(Available only on Android devices)
AppGuard Feature
When this option is enabled, your child cannot exit the Kahf Kids app.
They can only use Kahf Kids and cannot switch to any other app.
(This feature is currently available only on Android devices.)
Website Blocker / Website Restriction
You can restrict websites in two different modes — only one can be active at a time:
Whitelist Mode
All websites are blocked by default.
Only the sites you add to the Allow list will be accessible.
Example: your child studies at kahfkids.com/learn — you want them to access only that site.
Simply add that link to the Allow list, and every other website will stay blocked automatically.
Blacklist Mode
All websites are open by default.
Only the ones you add to the Block list will be restricted.
Example: your child watches too many videos on youtube.com — just add that website to the Block list.
That site will stay blocked, while all others remain open.
Educational Content & Course Feature
For children, Kahf Kids offers a variety of interactive learning courses —
including live classes, recorded sessions, blended learning, and one-to-one mentoring or tutoring systems.
For parents, there are also specialized courses on child psychology, parenting, and child development.
Additionally, any organization or educator offering child-related courses can onboard their programs onto Kahf Kids.
That way, parents no longer need to browse multiple platforms — they can find and access every course in one place.
Games Feature
Kahf Kids includes a selection of brain-boosting quizzes and games —
designed to help children learn alphabets, country names, mathematics, and more in a fun, interactive way.
Parents can choose to turn games ON or OFF.
If turned OFF, the game section will disappear from the app interface.
Digital Qur’an
To help children recite and learn directly within the app, a Digital Qur’an feature has been added.
Here, children can:
Listen to beautiful recitations (tilawah)
Read translations
Enable auto-loop playback for memorization (helpful for Hifz)
Bookmark verses, take notes, and change color themes
Resume reading exactly where they left off last time
This ensures a smooth and engaging Qur’an learning experience within a safe digital space.
Drawing Pad
Children can freely draw, color, and explore their creativity —
starting from simple shapes to full drawings using multiple colors.
They can save their artwork, share it, or edit previous drawings anytime.
Calculator Feature
A beautifully designed calculator has been included —
helping children practice arithmetic and develop basic math skills easily.
Wallpaper Feature
Children can change the home screen wallpaper of the app to customize its look and feel —
making the experience more personal and engaging.
Available on All Types of Devices
Many parents prefer not to give children mobile phones and instead let them watch videos on TV.
For that, Kahf Kids offers a dedicated TV mode, ensuring children can watch only the safe, approved video segment — nothing else.
Currently available on:
Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, and Sony TV.
Coming soon, Insha’Allah:
LG TV, Samsung TV, and Apple TV.
